This event will feature Michael Mina and is hosted jointly by The Forum at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health and The World from PRX & WGBH. Join and learn more here.

A year after Chinese health officials reported the first cluster of cases of the disease now known as COVID-19, the world struggles with a global pandemic. What will the next year bring? In this Forum Q&A, Harvard Chan epidemiologist Michael Mina and The World’s Elana Gordon look ahead: Will the anticipation of an imminent vaccine and “coronavirus fatigue” cause people to become lax when it comes to social distancing and masking? Have public health officials and scientists become disillusioned by the public’s response? With cases surging, how will Americans make difficult decisions about holiday travel and celebrations? And why is rapid testing so critical to controlling the course of the pandemic, even before a vaccine is widely available? Join us for this timely discussion during this unprecedented time in the race to combat the COVID-19.
