Target Trial Emulation for Vaccine Evaluation – Possibilities and Challenges (ID Epi Seminar Series)

Headshot of Kayoko ShiodaThis hybrid in-person/virtual seminar will be presented by Kayoko Shioda, Assistant Professor of Global Health at the Boston University School of Public Health. The in-person portion will be held in Kresge G3 and does not require registration. Register for the seminar here.

Dr. Shioda is an infectious disease epidemiologist and veterinarian. Her research aims to advance human and animal health by identifying evidence-based interventions for the control of infectious diseases. Her work centers on two main areas: 1) vaccine epidemiology and 2) One Health with climate change. In the field of vaccine epidemiology, which she will focus on during her talk, Dr. Shioda aims to shape vaccine policies by obtaining robust estimates of the population-level impact of vaccines. She received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Tokyo, her MPH at Emory University, and her Ph.D. at Yale University.
