ID Epi Seminar Series: Ben Lopman

Ben Lopman is Professor of Epidemiology at the Emory University Rollins School of Public Health.  He is an infectious disease epidemiologist with a research focus on vaccines and enteric viruses. His group conducts research globally and in the United States. Prior to joining the RSPH faculty in 2016, Dr. Lopman was with the Division of Viral Diseases at CDC where he led programs on enteric viruses and vaccine epidemiology.  Dr. Lopman spent 10 years in London where he earned his Master’s degree at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, PhD while working at the UK’s Health Protection Agency, and post-doc at Imperial College London.  His group uses a range of approaches including field studies, statistical analysis and dynamic mathematical models to conduct policy-relevant research on the epidemiology of enteric viruses and their control using vaccination.
