Sonja Lehtinen is a postdoctoral research associate at ETH Zurich and works on the relationship between pathogen ecology and evolution and public health. Her research to date has focused on explaining puzzling trends in the frequencies of antibiotic resistance in Streptococcus pneumoniae. Pia Abel-zur Wiesch received her PhD from ETH Zurich with the oversight of Sebastian Bonhoeffer, and was awarded a medal for completing an outstanding thesis in 2011.
