Week 4: Control Interventions: Vaccination

This week’s materials provide a general introduction to the control of infectious diseases through vaccination. We will begin by going through the history of inoculation and the development of vaccines. We will see how vaccines work and learn about the importance of vaccination in reducing infectious disease burden globally. We will then incorporate vaccination into the SIR modeling framework, and we will use this framework to highlight some of the important considerations for vaccination programs.

This week of instruction was provided by Dr. Ayesha Mahmud.
