(Former Bio) Jenn is a bioengineer who trained at MIT and later at the Thayer School of Engineering at Dartmouth College for her PhD. There, as a protein engineer, she worked on developing vaccine immunogens to focus humoral immunity on epitopes associated with protective antibody responses for HIV-1 and Dengue virus. Such “rational vaccinology” approaches are informed by the structural characterization of monoclonal antibodies. As a Schmidt Science Fellow in the Mina Lab, Jenn aimed to move towards a more holistic under standing of humoral immunity by using VirScan to profile the serum antibody repertoire during pregnancy and early infancy. Outside of science, Jenn is a lapsed classical pianist, enjoys cooking good food, exploring the outdoors, and occasionally runs long distances.
