Inga Holmdahl

Data Scientist, Center for Forecasting and Outbreak Analytics
Center for Communicable Disease Dynamics, Department of Epidemiology

(Former Bio) Inga Holmdahl completed a PhD with Dr. Caroline Buckee. Her research used mathematical models to study malaria, focusing on mosquito population dynamics, vector control interventions, and insecticide resistance.

I-Ting Huang

PhD student in Organismic and Evolutionary Biology at Harvard University
Center for Communicable Disease Dynamics, Department of Epidemiology

(Former Bio) I-Ting Huang completed a Masters of Science at the CCDD in Infectious Disease Epidemiology. Prior to joining the Harvard TH Chan School of Public Health, she finished her B.S. degree in public health in Taiwan, where she worked in Dengue vector control and conducted research on Hepatitis B virus epidemiology and evolution. Her interests include the evolutionary dynamics of infectious diseases and host-pathogen relationships.

Rebecca Kahn

Epidemic Intelligence Service Officer, CDC
Postdoctoral Research Fellow, Center for Communicable Disease Dynamics (CCDD)

(Former Bio) Rebecca Kahn was a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the Center for Communicable Disease Dynamics at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health. After graduating with a BA in Public Policy and Global Health from Duke University, she worked with the President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief in the U.S. State Department’s Office of the Global AIDS Coordinator. She then worked for Partners In Health in Sierra Leone…

Stephen Kelley

Research Assistant Center for Communicable Disease Dynamics, Department of Epidemiology

(Former Bio) Stephen was interested in improving detection technologies developed in the lab through robotic integration and component miniaturization. In his free time, he enjoys reading up on the latest developments in manufacturing and anything meant to go fast and loves the beach.

Nishant Kishore

CEO and Co-Founder of EpiTech Consultants
Center for Communicable Disease Dynamics, Department of Epidemiology

(Former Bio) Nishant completed a doctorate in the Epidemiology concentration working with Dr. Caroline Buckee. Nishant is interested in developing and implementing epidemiological tools that leverage high-throughput and “big” data for the evaluation of and intervention for infectious disease transmission dynamics in an increasingly urbanized and connected world. He is the CEO and Co-Founder of EpiTech Consultants, a public health technology consulting firm that specializes in the development of analytic…

Stephen Kissler

Assistant Professor of Computer Science, University of Colorado Boulder
Postdoctoral Research Fellow, Center for Communicable Disease Dynamics (CCDD)

(Former Bio) Stephen Kissler is a postdoctoral fellow with Yonatan Grad’s lab in the Department of Immunology and Infectious Diseases. He studies respiratory pandemic pathogens and clinical care practices, using mathematical models to uncover geographic and demographic disparities in disease incidence and patient care. He studied applied mathematics at the University of Colorado Boulder (M.S., B.S.) and at the University of Cambridge (Ph.D.).

Jennifer Lai

Senior Scientist, Metaphore Biotechnologies
Postdoctoral Research Fellow, Center for Communicable Disease Dynamics (CCDD)

(Former Bio) Jenn is a bioengineer who trained at MIT and later at the Thayer School of Engineering at Dartmouth College for her PhD. There, as a protein engineer, she worked on developing vaccine immunogens to focus humoral immunity on epitopes associated with protective antibody responses for HIV-1 and Dengue virus. Such “rational vaccinology” approaches are informed by the structural characterization of monoclonal antibodies. As a Schmidt Science Fellow in…

Kate Langwig

Assistant Professor, Virginia Tech
CCDD Postdoctoral Research Fellow, 2015-2017

(Former Bio) Kate Langwig earned a bachelors degree at Union College, Schenectady, NY in 2008, and a Ph.D. from the University of California Santa Cruz in 2015. Her work bridges ecology and epidemiology to address questions on the epidemiological consequences of host heterogeneity. Please click here for more information about Kate Langwig.

Sarah Lapidus

Center for Communicable Disease Dynamics, Department of Epidemiology

(Former Bio) Sarah Lapidus completed a Masters of Science at the CCDD in Infectious Disease Epidemiology.  Before coming to Harvard University, she taught high school science in Mali and as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Sierra Leone.  Sarah graduated from Amherst College with a BA in Biology.

Daniel Larremore

Assistant Professor (Department of Computer Science, BioFrontiers Institute), University of Colorado Boulder
CCDD Postdoctoral Research Fellow, 2012-2015

(Former Bio) Daniel Larremore is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science and the BioFrontiers Institute at the University of Colorado at Boulder. His research develops statistical and inferential methods for analyzing large-scale network data, and uses those methods to solve applied problems in diverse domains, including public health and academic labor markets. In particular, his work focuses on generative models for networks, the ongoing evolution of the…
