Center for Communicable Disease Dynamics, Department of Epidemiology

Samantha Palace, PhD, was a postdoctoral research fellow at the Harvard T. H. Chan School of Public Health working with Drs. Marc Lipsitch and Yonatan Grad in the Center for Communicable Disease Dynamics and the Department of Immunology and Infectious Diseases. Her work focused on understanding how bacteria minimize fitness costs associated with the acquisition of antimicrobial resistance, and whether these fitness costs can be exploited to improve the treatment or decrease the frequency of drug-resistant staphylococcal and gonococcal infections. Prior to joining HSPH, Dr. Palace completed her PhD at the University of Massachusetts Medical School, where she studied host/pathogen interactions of the plague bacillus Yersinia pestis.
