Jesse Aspinwall-Rezende was born in Belo Horizonte, Brazil and raised in Hingham, MA. He obtained his Bachelor of Science in International Management from the University of Massachusetts-Boston in 2011. After graduating, Jesse wanted to pursue a job where he would have a mission in helping people. After working one year as a fund account administrator at Brown Brother Harriman, Jesse decided to change jobs and found Massachusetts Alliance of Portuguese Speakers (MAPS). At MAPS Jesse worked as a Health Communication Specialist and Data Coordinator for the HIV/STD program for four years. At MAPS, Jesse developed his vocation working with HIV/STD and other infectious diseases. He learned that his strong communication skills can remove barriers and help people that are searching for help. Jesse is very creative, has strong analytical and critical skills. He is also very sociable and loves working with people from diverse backgrounds. Looking for a bigger step in his career, he decided to focus on higher education institutions. Working at Harvard is a big step in his career development. Jesse is very comfortable working with people from multicultural backgrounds. He is a fluent Portuguese speaker and enjoys watching historical documentaries. During his free time, he also likes to go out with his wife and play with his brother’s dog. But most importantly, Jesse loves to dedicate his time to make a difference in this world. His goal in life is to make his job have a positive effect in humanity.
